For Release 8:00 a.m. EST, April 30, 2002:

In Conjunction with Advanced Validation Labs, SiS Launches JEDEC Standard Validation Program for DDR333 Memory Modules

Fountain Valley, CA (April 30, 2002) - Advanced Validation Labs® (AVL), a leading validation and testing services company and Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation® (SiS), a leading core logic and graphics chip supplier, today announced its DDR333 memory module validation program for the SiS645/645DX chipset.

With the launch of the SiS645/645DX for the Intel® Pentium™ 4, memory manufacturers and DRAM suppliers have started to ship DDR333 (PC2700) modules and devices to be tested by AVL for compatibility with SiS chipsets. In addition, the SiS645/645DX supports DDR333/DDR266/PC133 memory technology with up to three gigabytes of maximum memory capacity.

The AVL/SiS validation program involves the testing of memory modules using the SiS645/645DX and AVL's leading-edge equipment and software. The validation process includes the application of different voltage and thermal ranges to further stress memory modules under test.

"AVL provides a comprehensive suite of test services with high quality and stringent standards in the field of testing and validation of memory. In close cooperation with AVL, SiS is able to assure all the products are in line with world-class standards," said Alex Wu, director, Integrated Product Division, SiS.

"AVL is confident that its collaboration with SiS will enable users looking for validated modules to feel confident that the memory they purchase is reliable and compatible with SiS solutions. Our customers will be able to verify that their memory modules have been thoroughly tested with AVL's comprehensive validation procedure," stated Larry Ho, director, technical labs, Advanced Validation Labs.
