AVL and VIA Announce First Results Of DDR333 Memory Validation Program
Advanced Validation Labs Has Successfully Validated Memory Modules From Vendors Including Kingston
Technology and Micron For VIA's DDR333 Chipset Platforms
Fountain Valley, CA (April 5, 2002) - Advanced Validation Labs® (AVL), a
leading validation and testing services company and VIA® Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator
and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platforms solutions, today announced the first results of a
DDR333 memory module validation program.
With the launch of the VIA Apollo KT333 for the AMD® Athlon XP processor and the VIA
Apollo P4X333 for the Intel® Pentium 4 processor, memory manufacturers and DRAM
suppliers including companies like Kingston® Technology and Micron®, have
started to ship DDR333 (PC2700) modules and devices specifically tested by AVL for compatibility with VIA chipsets.
The VIA-certified system validation involves the testing of memory modules using VIA's reference platform and AVL's
leading-edge equipment and software. The validation test process, co-developed by AVL and VIA, includes the
application of different voltage and thermal ranges to further stress memory modules under test.
"AVL's quick-turn validation services ensure compatibility and interoperability of memory modules with high
performance VIA DDR333 chipset platforms," commented Chewei Lin, Director of Product Marketing,
VIA Technologies, Inc. "This collaboration with AVL allows us to speed time to market and sustain the
confidence of end users eager to upgrade to higher bandwidth memory technologies."
"AVL is very pleased to play an integral role in VIA's industry leading DDR333 validation program," stated
Larry Ho, Director of Technical Labs, Advanced Validation Labs. "With AVL's extensive engineering experience
and quick-turn validation services, customers will be able to verify that their memory modules have been thoroughly
tested with AVL's comprehensive validation procedure."
